The operators introduce themselves
“Us” that means Eva Rose and Stefan Strobach. She has a doctorate in law and was head of the Department of Research Services at Leibniz University of Hanover. He is an event manager and worked for many years at the “Pavillon”, a renowned culture club in Hanover where he organized big and small events and was in charge of the financial controlling.
We have been a couple for more than 25 years and share the love of adventure and the “wanderlust”. On our travels we have seen quite a lot of the world. In Latin America we made our first experience with managing a touristic guest house. From 2009 until 2012 we lived in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia.
Eva Rose worked for an Ethiopian – German development project and was in charge of managing the Institute of Technology at the University of Addis Ababa. Stefan Strobach was involved in projects of the Welthungerhilfe and the Goethe Institute in Addis Ababa. In 2012 we left the metropolis with its chaotic traffic and more than 5 Mio inhabitants for the laid back seaside resort of Trassenheide.
Since August 2012 we have been living our dream of our own small hotel at the Baltic Sea. We bought the existing “Pension Bernstein” and continued to run it under the new name of “Ferienhotel Bernstein”. Fortunately, we could rely on most of the old team members. We aim at combining a family like, comfortable atmosphere with a very good standard. Therefore we continuously work on improvements.
